Your Bromley Experience
WELCOME
Firstly congratulations on getting engaged and thank you for choosing Bromley Brides and putting your trust in us to help you choose your beautiful bridal gown. This is possibly the most expensive and sentimental gown you will ever wear so it is incredibly important you receive the best service we always endeavour to give our Brides and we are excited to go on this magical journey with you. Over the next few pages we will guide you through the experience you will receive at Bromley Brides and what is and not included in your purchase so you can manage your budget accordingly.
BUYING YOUR BRIDAL GOWN
Our prices range from £899 to £5000 for a made to order dress and can be ordered in sizes 2-32. It is imperative that we know what timescale and budget we are working to when helping you find your dream dress. Some of our designers take up to 6 months to get a dress made and delivered.
To place an order with us, we’ll require 50% of the total price upfront. The remainder will then be due once your gown is delivered to us. We will arrange a pre-fit with you to try it on in store along with a styling appointment if you wish to choose your shoes, head wear, veil and jewellery.
At your pre-fit, we'll ask you to thoroughly check your wedding dress to make sure your happy. You then have the option for us to store and insure your dress until you are ready to collect it. There is a small fee of £50 for this service. Should you not wish to pay for storage we will steam and pack your dress up for you to take it away. If you require our alterations service then please just bring it back with you for your first fitting.
YOUR FITTING WITH THE SEAMSTRESS
Alterations may be necessary to make sure your dress is a perfect fit, whether this be; a hem, bra sewn into a backless dress, sleeves added or a nip and tuck, we have skilled dress makers available to help you.
We have a price list that we hand out at point of purchase with a breakdown of alteration costs as these are not included in your dress purchase. The cost of alterations will be quoted by your seamstress at the time of your first fitting and providing your measurements don’t change, we only charge for the finished job, not the number of fittings.
We will organise the first fitting for you in store to introduce you to your dress maker. Once you have had you first fitting you will then arrange any other fittings directly with them as our ladies manage their own diaries and finances. Vee has a card machine but Fatima and Cathy can only take cash, cheque or a bank transfer. We have two rooms available downstairs for fittings (one small and one big) unless you book the vip experience in the Wonder Room.
The number of fittings varies. You may only need one or two but if multiple alterations are required then you may need up to 4/5 fittings so please make sure your diary is fairly flexible in order for our dress maker to accommodate you.
Previous experience has taught us that pins and toddlers don’t mix so we politely ask you to not bring small children along to your fitting. Babies in prams are however fine. Due to space we also ask you to limit the amount of people you bring with you. If you require more than 4 people at your fitting then we would kindly ask you to contact us as we can provide vip appointments in the Wonder Room.
After your final fitting, you may want to take your dress home then or arrange a later pick up date, whatever you decide we will make sure your dress is steamed and pressed ready for collection but please give us notice and arrange this directly with Bromley Brides rather than your seamstress. We can not accommodate pick ups on Saturdays due to the amount of foot fall we have in store during the day and we want to protect your dress. At your pick up you will be required to sign a legally binding form stating that you are happy with the condition and the fit of your gown.
If you're travelling abroad and need a cabin box we can provide this from the Empty Box Company. We just ask you to choose your colour, pattern and size according to your airline. You will be responsible for providing the measurements of hand luggage required for you airline. Once we know the details we will pack your box in acid free tissue paper. This service costs between £50-£55. Please allow 6 weeks for delivery of the box to avoid disappointment.
Once your wedding is over and you have noticed that your dress needs a little clean or a repair we can offer a boxing and cleaning service for £250. We use a specialist dry cleaning service who picks the dress up from Bromley Brides and brings it back two weeks later. The dress will be ready for you to collect in a beautiful large box wrapped in tissue paper and ribbon.
Thank you for taking the time to read all about our service. Please do not hesitate to get in contact if you have require any further information or have any questions.
